Download Rainy.

Rainy runs on a computer you own, like a home server, a NAS with Docker, or your desktop. Every other device just opens it in a browser or installs the app.

Questions, answered.

Is Rainy free?

Yes. Rainy is MIT licensed with no subscription and no paid tier. Some optional dependencies and models use other licenses. The repository’s third-party notices list them.

Is my music uploaded anywhere?

No. Rainy runs on your hardware. Audio analysis, genre classification, lyrics alignment and recommendations are all computed locally, with no API keys required.

Do I need a GPU?

No. Light show analysis uses every CPU core (about 2.8 s for a 216 s track on a Ryzen 5 5600X). An NVIDIA GPU makes it faster, with identical results.

Can my family use it too?

Yes. Rainy is multi-user, with per-account libraries, user and sysadmin roles, friends, and shared playlists with admin or viewer collaborators.

Does it work on my phone and TV?

Install it as a PWA on your phone for lock-screen controls and media keys, cast to Chromecast, and use Rainy Connect to move playback between devices.

Can I import from YouTube or Spotify?

Yes, including whole playlists and syncs that keep them up to date. Only import music you own or have permission to download, and follow the law where you live.
